Stones... a beautiful and ancient tribute to life even if we do not know it. Note the fact that the depth of field is off the axis of the lens. taken with the Calumet on Tri-X rated for 100 ASA. Please just think on it... it should be meditative.

Studies in Silence by =Adoniram This photo just jumped out at me in this deviant's gallery. So serene and peaceful. The off-axis DOF ... ah ... beautiful. Be sure to check his gallery as well. (Featured by `cweeks)

This is absolutely FUCKING awesome if i can use that sort of language....i love it...its the kind of stuff i started out doing..except yours has a nice edge to it...the image feels really crisp i like that...it looks old but fresh at the same time...
Good Work....i hope you have more like this.....ill be watching....
:iconadoniram:
You can use any sort of language you wish. The crispness you see is a result of the power of the view camera. I'm able to control the exact location of the depth of field. Fixed cameras don't have the same flexibility. I will probably do more work like this in the future but I imagine of late there will be a lot of studio work. I'm currently working on developing that portion of my portfolio.

lovely shot.
it almost looks like the gravestone on the left will fall, creating a domino-effect.
i like the blurriness of the stones in the background, it adds more focus on the ones in the front.
you captured the silence well

Thank you. Perfection is near the silence. Not mine of course, but the idea.

I absolutely Loooove the lighting...I've been wanting to shoot at a cemetary for a long time - and you certainly accomplished the look and feel I woudl be hoping for. A :+fav: fo sure!

Thank you very much! (grins) I have a lot more b&w but for the fact that scanning silver prints sucks, I leave them offline. I'm currently working on a InfraRed book. That particular piece is shot on Plus-X and then printed on Agfa MCC 113 and toned with selenium. I will probably be making copy prints of my silver work, since scanning kills all the luster of the print. Thank you none the less!

Really lovely... I love the different focus from the front to the back.. Very beautiful..

Thanks. It's a technique in photography known as Sheimpflug. It allows one to create extremely narrow bands of focus at angles to the visual plane. Thanks again. Cheers.
